Parish Ministries - Time, Talent, & Treasure
There are a wide variety of ways to share your time, talents, and treasures with Holy Trinity and St. Michael parishes. For more information about any of the ministries please call the parish office at 262-626-2860.
Lectors share the Word of God with St. Mary’s parishioners by reading the Scriptures at Mass and other liturgical celebrations. They serve God by communicating His words to the parish community and experience a joy that comes from serving the Lord and others. The lector is trained in the proclamation of God’s Word and the how-to aspects of reading in church. If you are interested in becoming a lector, please call us at the parish offices.
The primary responsibility of the Sacristans is to ready the altar at each Mass in preparation for the Eucharist. They also ensure that all participants of the Mass from the Servers, to the Lectors, to the Offertory Family is present and prepared to participate.
Extraordinary Ministers of Holy Communion, generally known as Eucharistic Ministers are lay people who volunteer and are trained by the Church to assist the priest in distributing Holy Communion at Mass. Each minister receives instructions dealing with the role of lay ministers, with an emphasis on the Eucharist. Eucharistic Ministers assist in the nourishing of God's people with the Body and Blood of Christ.
Ministry to the Sick or Homebound
This ministry provides a spiritual and sacramental lifeline to community members who cannot attend Mass because of hospitalization, serious illness, pregnancy, injury or similar circumstance. Eucharistic ministers to the homebound deliver communion and fellowship to parishioners at their homes, hospitals and nursing homes.
To request this service, or to volunteer for this ministry for St. Michael Church, please contact Deacon Ralph at 262-334-5270 or for Holy Trinity Church contact Diane at 262-626-2860.
Alter Servers (Acolytes)
An altar server (acolyte) assists the priests and deacons at the Mass and other public services of the Church. The duties of an acolyte include lighting the candles on the altar, carrying them in procession; and preparing wine and water for the sacrifice of the Mass. The position of acolyte is open to any young man or woman of the parishes. Each candidate will receive specific training before serving at Mass.
Hospitality Ministers (Ushers) welcome parishioners and visitors with a smiling face when arriving for Mass, and assist them in finding a seat. They also collect the offeratory during Mass and help people find their way around the church. Their goal is to exemplify and extend the hospitality of the parish. If you are interested in this ministry please call the parish offices
Presenting the gifts is a great way for families of all ages to be a special part of the Mass. We invites all parishioners who are interested in bringing up the gifts to let one of the ushers know of your interest before Mass begins. The ushers will let you know if the opportunity is available. Three or more people are needed per Mass.
